I really have not been consistent with updating like I used to be.  Having two kiddos really does make a difference.  And, I find that I'm really ENJOYING their lives more...rather than just checking off a list from a development stages book.  Trinity was SO by-the-book (as, I am) and Nathan is the total opposite.  Nathan is such a blessing to our family. He is teaching Trinity and me a lot - just by being himself.

Trinity has grown 4 inches this past year.  Right now she is really focusing (of her own will) on pronouncing words correctly and learning to write letters and draw pictures of things other than smiley faces. :)  I called Marlucio to tell him the dreaded news...she can pronounce his name.  But she said that she will still call him Suzzu because that is his "real name." :)))  She learned to make an "S" two days ago and was extremely excited about it - so, that's all she has been doing is making "s's."  She is sooo good with Nathan and very helpful around the house.  Her pretend has gotten more complex - it is so fun to watch her play.  She and I still bicker quite a bit...but it has lessened to a normal level, I think.  (At least I can make it through every day without the desire to not see her face!!)  I've learned that if she doesn't have consistent snacks, a little bit of attention, and only a small amount of TV she is easygoing. :)  I realize that with Nathan coming along her schedule got thrown out the window (not of MY will...) and that sent her into the horrible spiral of disobedience and discontentment.  (because this girl had everything scheduled (she loved it!!):  tv, snacks, meals, inside play, outside play, special events on certain days of the week, bathtime, and bedtime.)

Nathan is a busy little bee.  Every week (Heck, sometimes even every couple days!) he learns something new.  Last week he learned to pull himself up into a standing position if he has something to hold onto - and has been perfecting it ever since.  Today he was pulling himself up while holding onto a door as it swang back and forth!!!!  Last week he learned to wave.  Two days ago he learned to climb our stairs!!!!  Yesterday he learned to pick up his puff snack between his thumb and index fingers and put it into his mouth.  Trinity and I are trying to teach him sign-language..because he seems really interested in it.  (I did it with Trinity and it helped a lot until she could speak.)

I have been on a dairy-free diet for 3 weeks.  A citrus and peanut diet for 1 week.  And starting yesterday...no carrots (for me or nathan).  All this because I am trying to figure out what is causing nathan to have an incredible amount of gas.  He toots all day long and at night it keeps him up.  I have been reading TONS of stuff.  As of right now, I think that he is just really sensitive digestion-wise.  So, I researched foods that don't cause a lot of gas and I'm going to try focusing on those and giving him LESS of the other stuff.  (Not taking it all out, but just trying to be careful not to give him too much).  I give him carrots every other day because he loves them so much - but I read that they really cause a lot of gas.  So, I'm stopping for a few days to see if it makes a huge difference.

Anyway...that's all really boring.  But just to say that food-wise Nathan and I are having a hard time.

Travis has started studying for his competency exams.  Those will be in August.  After that he has one more year of classes, a language requirement in the summer 2010 and then it's dissertation time!!!!!!!!!

You all have a clue how excited I must be. :)

We are leaving for Indiana in one week from today.  I'm looking forward to all the fun stuff that is planned.

Welp, that's the Coblentz Family update for today.

Wednesday 5/27/09
- On the road at 11:58am EARLY!!!!!!
- Yes, that's right...The Coblentzes actually left EARLY.
- "Are we there yet?" (The question Trinity started asking about 30 minutes out of Waco.)
- Speeding ticket
- A cop every 5 miles the whole effing way.
- Made it to our hotel by 2:45pm
- Toliet with flush buttons on the top?
- Trolley ride to the Alamo
- The riverwalk!!
- Fountains
- A million restaurants
- Texas Tea (YUUUUUM.)
- Steakhouse, sat outside, along the water....ahhhh nice.
- Nathan learns to wave!!
- Took the correct trolley...but the wrong direction.  Took 40 minutes to get back to hotel. lol

Thursday 5/28/09

- Trinity being scared was pretty much the theme for the day.  All she did was look at animals from a distance and play in the spray-park. :(
- Dolphin and acrobat show!! (Trinity LOVED this)
- Shamu show!! (Trinity loved this, too)
- 5:00pm - headed home
- Bennigans!!
- 11pm bedtimes for everyone - ZONKED.

All in all Sea World would have been better if:
1.  We didn't have to carry nathan the whole day
2.  Trinity wasn't so dang scared of everything
3.  The waterpark would have been OPEN.
4.  The ONE ride Trinity wanted to ride had been OPEN.

But feeding the dolphins and watching the dolphin and shamu shows were awesome!!! And it was just nice being together for two solid days.  The Riverwalk was fun and so beautiful and the food was scrumptulescent.

Alamo, Riverwalk, Sea World, Waving )WARNING:  Extreme cutsies ahead.......Nathan learns to wave.

Today I got to celebrate Mother's Day AND our 12th Wedding Anniversary on the same day!

Actually, Travis and I went out on a date on Friday (5/8) to celebrate our anniversary.  We ate at Quiznos and went to see the new Wolverine movie.  LOVED IT.  (We have a habit of seeing Marvel movies on our anniversary.  Seeing as we love them I hope there is ALWAYS a Marvel movie released in May!!) :)

12 years.  And I still love him. :)  I love him more, actually.  I can't relate to romantic comedies anymore, lol, but I know that's really not the point.  I'm learning to really Love.  Learning to be content.  Learning to put someone else first.  Add children to the mix and I'm just a full-time student!!!

:)

Anyway, this marriage is one that is actually "til death do us part" - and I'm damn proud to say it.

Mother's Day:  Trinity made me a lovely card and gave it to me this morning.  It is always fun to see what things she comes up with when Travis asks her "why do you love your mommy?" or "what do you love most about your mommy" etc.  Anyone that knows me best knows that one of my favorite things to give/receive is a card that actually says something. I will cherish these cards all of my life.

We went out with our friends to an Italian Restaurant for lunch.  Came home and relaxed.  Travis did the dishes!!!!!!!  And then we went out for ice cream!!

And I just got back from a 4.5 mile walk with Angela.  I talked her ear off.

It was a wonderful day.

Hey Everyone,

My uncle Ronnie's wife, Jackie AND my grandpa Yoss were killed in a car accident this morning.
Jackie was taking grandpa to a doctor's appointment and I guess they collided with a truck.

I don't have any other details, yet.

I'll most likely be heading to Indiana this weekend - if I can find tickets.

:(

I'm just kinda in shock and frankly just getting QUITE tired of all the effing death in the world.

love,
Chrissy
